No digging at all anymore in Oregon since the state outlawed digging on both public and private property (even with written permission). As we were told by State officials, "no bottle is worth a large fine and jail time".
Digging is now relegated to Northern Cal. private property with permission...
Just dug a nice 70s-80s pit in Cal. Beautiful sunny day and a great property owner who actually clapped when she saw bottles coming out. Said she did not want any of them, and was just happy that I was having fun. :)
Those are my kind of folks. Too many home owners getting "clued in" by watching the tube. I'd rather NOT dig a pit that have then hovering over the hole and grabbing everything that comes up.
Wasp spray does wonders to calm foaming pit bulls. A snoot full and they are done. I had one try to eat through the fence we were digging next to, so went to my truck and got the spray. HAR! That sucker was deadly afraid of the fence after that.
I removed one of the comments that suggested some of the diggers were "Dick Smithing" bottles in their coveralls. I have dug with fellows that wore them damn coveralls and we never seemed to find any inks dolls heads or coins. Something about them coveralls that rubs me the wrong way.
Yeah, guess we had better be careful with what we post, even in jest. The next reader could be the permission you have lined up for tomorrow...or an archy looking for another reason to shut us down!
Looks like the only digging we will be doing is in the boxes under the tables at Chico

ReplyDeleteAn incredible pure green large letter Renz's was just dug while a property tenant was hovering. The diggers just played it cool.
